Description by Nakhshab Development and Design

The Lahaye Residence is NDD’s newest single-family design build project and is expected to be complete this coming summer. Located in Encinitas, the property was a blank canvas for NDD Principal Soheil Nakhshab. With only a few requirements from the Lahaye’s single story, open entertaining space, and directed sight lines towards more desirable views – Soheil had the creative freedom to design and engineer the perfect home for the young family of four. The result is a mid-century inspired home with unexpected features like an indoor atrium, sunken family room, and stone “spine wall” running the length of the home. The project will be LEED certified complete with rooftop solar array, locally sourced materials, and an energy-star lighting and appliance package. Once again, the Lahaye Residence is a stunning example of what NDD can do when they are given the creative freedom to design, engineer, and build a project.

The approximately 3,000 SF home has 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a family room, and a sprawling great room complete with gourmet kitchen.

The L shape design allows for the creation of private and public spaces with the family room and bedrooms at one end of the home and the guest suite and entertaining space on the other.

20 feet of retracting glass doors connect the indoor entertaining space with the outdoor entertaining space, which includes an outdoor kitchen and bar, swimming pool, and lounge area.

The indoor atrium literally brings the outdoors in and creates a unique focal point from almost every spot in the house.

Natural materials such as stone, rich woods, and lush plantings allow the home to seamlessly fit in with the natural landscape of the site.
