About Mal Pas House

Nestled in the heart of Mal Pas, Alcudia, on the sun-drenched island of Mallorca, Spain, Mal Pas House emerges as a contemporary Mediterranean marvel. Crafted by the visionary minds at Negre Manrique + Barcelo in 2017, this two-story house exudes sophistication through its seamless blend of traditional materials and modern aesthetics.

A Harmonious Blend with Nature

Upon approach, the Mal Pas House captures attention with its imposing 47-meter-long stone wall, an architectural spine offering privacy and continuity. The wall guides visitors towards the entrance, where a tranquil courtyard and reflective swimming pool hint at the meticulous design philosophy. Lush greenery clings to the wall, marrying the home’s contemporary lines with the landscape’s natural beauty.

Fluid Spaces and Natural Light

Transcending the threshold, the transition from outdoors to indoors is almost imperceptible, as open-plan living spaces bask in natural light. A sequence of voids on the first floor sculpts the home’s geometric form, ensuring each bedroom gazes out towards serene views, sunlight, and retains a discreet presence.

The interior spaces articulate modern comfort with an array of textures, from the smoothness of glass to the rough-hewn stone walls that whisper tales of Mediterranean warmth. Every room, purposefully positioned, unfolds with intention, leading occupants on a journey through bright, airy environments to intimate nooks that inspire peace and reflection.

Intimate Interiors, Expansive Horizons

In the heart of the house, the dining area and kitchen present a canvas of pale wood and crisp whites, where culinary experiences are shared against a backdrop of the verdant outdoors. The connectivity to nature is undeniable, with each window and terrace serving as a frame to the breathtaking views of the sea.

Ascend to the private quarters, and the master suite presents a panorama through vast, glass expanses. Here, the horizon is not merely a view but an integral component of the room’s design. A minimalist bathroom overlooks the azure waters, ensuring the act of rejuvenation is accompanied by the splendor of the coastline.

Mal Pas House, with its profound connection to its environment and masterful spatial arrangement, exemplifies the zenith of contemporary Mediterranean living. It stands as a testament to Negre Manrique + Barcelo’s ability to sculpt a home not just of walls and windows, but of light, shadow, and the very air of Mallorca itself.
