About Tama’s Tee Home

Embrace the vibrant surf culture of Tamarama, a Sydney beach suburb undergoing a transformation. Known for its unique blend of hedonism and gentrification, Tamarama attracts a crowd that effortlessly melds finance with leisure, trading stock tips as they dash to the waves, surfboards in tow.

A Glimpse into Tamarama’s Landscape

Steep escarpments encase Tamarama’s beach, setting it apart from its wider neighbors, Bondi and Bronte. The area boasts a unique architectural landscape, with homes perched on hillsides. These dwellings, once the domain of beach enthusiasts, now stand as relics amidst the threat of skin cancer, showcasing a blend of history and modernity.

Innovative Construction: The Tee Home

The construction of Tama’s Tee Home stands as a testament to sustainable building practices. Builders preserved fifty percent of the existing structure, including a significant sandstone retaining wall and the underlying garage. The innovative ‘Tee’ addition, anchored firmly atop the garage, introduces a striking unipod silhouette to the home’s ocean-facing façade, ensuring stability and aesthetic appeal.

Battling the Elements with Design

Oceanfront architecture demands materials that can withstand the relentless assault of salt, humidity, and wind. The Tee Home rises to this challenge with its use of weather-resistant concrete, marine-grade roofing, and stainless steel fixtures, safeguarding the structure against the coastal environment’s harsh conditions.

Maximizing Views and Comfort

Strategically constructed across four levels to navigate the hillside terrain, the home’s main living area, situated on the third floor, offers breathtaking ocean vistas to the northeast. A sheltered terrace to the northwest provides a serene escape from the coastal winds, blending indoor comfort with outdoor beauty.

A Vision of Refined Beach Living

Raffaello Rosselli, the project’s lead architect, infuses the Tee Home with a vision of elegance and harmony with nature. Through his unique interpretation of materials and design, Rosselli crafts a beach house that celebrates natural textures, exposed structural elements, and light finishes. The home’s ambiance is further enhanced by custom-designed shutters, which filter the sunlight into a soft, dappled glow, creating a tranquil, inviting space.

In crafting this narrative, the essence of Tamarama’s evolving identity and the architectural marvel that is the Tee Home are vividly brought to life, offering readers a glimpse into the innovative and sustainable future of beachside living.
