About Ring House

Designing with the Land

Two concrete beams rise with the hill’s shape, creating the house’s distinctive edge. This structure provides shady spots, airy rooms, areas for solar panels, and shelters a garden brimming with citrus and edible plants. Together, the house and garden craft a mild, inviting microclimate, offering a calming retreat in the midst of a harsh landscape.

Healing the Terrain

The house also plays a role in healing the land. In the past, thoughtless road construction left the terrain damaged. Now, the soil removed to build the house has filled in these scars, helping to bring back the hill’s original look. Additionally, a careful study of the local plants guided the restoration. Seeds were gathered before construction began, grown into more seeds in a greenhouse, and later planted over the damaged areas to encourage the growth of native plants. This process helped to soften the impact of construction and blend the house into its natural surroundings.
