About Maison Ache

Tuscan Beauty Reimagined by Pierattelli Architetture

The renowned Italian studio, Pierattelli Architetture, has transformed a notable villa in Tuscany. Seamlessly, they blended modernity, tradition, and cherished memories.

Preserving the Tuscan Essence

Nestled in the iconic Tuscan landscape, a French family chose this historic home as their serene refuge. The villa’s exterior, with its plaster facades and pitched roof, stays true to its 20th-century roots. However, Pierattelli Architetture reimagined the interiors, intertwining tradition with modern flair.

Moreover, the farmhouse’s core features remain. Yet, contemporary touches, using local materials and cherished family heirlooms, bring fresh vitality. Everywhere, Tuscany’s essence permeates, especially with the stunning views through large arched windows. Furthermore, the frequent use of Pietra serena stone and terracotta flooring enhance its traditional warmth.

A Harmonious Blend of Old and New

Linking the villa’s three levels is a prominent spiral staircase, crafted from Pietra serena. This feature not only connects spaces but also weaves a continuous, tangible story. While the top floor offers rest, the lower levels buzz with daily life. Iconic design pieces, like the Eames Lounge Chair and Philippe Stark lamps, coexist with custom pieces by Pierattelli Architetture.

Local Craftsmanship Meets Modern Design

These furnishings, with their sleek lines, are the work of local artisans. They meld the old with the new, achieving both style and function. For instance, the living room’s Canaletto walnut cabinet, named Flat, boasts design cues reminiscent of the villa’s beams and terracotta hues. Additionally, its depth caters specifically to the owner’s preferences.

Immersed in Nature’s Grandeur

The Bold cabinet, also crafted from Canaletto walnut, showcases a balance between solid and airy structures. Outside, a vast terracotta yard unfolds. Formerly housing lemons, it now hosts a gym and an infinity pool, offering stunning valley views.
