NAO2 Apartment by Studio ETN

Introducing the NAO2 Apartment, a modern 130-square-meter (1,399-square-foot) apartment located in one of the northern neighbourhoods of Tel Aviv, Israel.

Designed by Studio ETN in 2022, this stunning family home of five plus two dogs was completely renovated, with the challenge of creating an open, accessible space with respectable passages in the public space while maintaining intimacy for all the apartment’s rooms.

The kitchen was designed as an integral part of the public space and classic shades in the spirit of modern design were used throughout the apartment. To maximize the beautiful view of Tel Aviv, neutral and calm furniture was selected to keep the view as unobstructed as possible.

About NAO2 Apartment

Creating an Accessible and Intimate Space: NAO2 Apartment in Tel Aviv

When tasked with designing an apartment for an amazing family of five, plus two stunning dogs, we faced a unique challenge. Located in one of the northern neighborhoods of Tel Aviv, the 130 sq m (1,399 sq ft) apartment was situated on a high floor in a building that was neither very old nor new.

Our clients wanted to refresh the appearance of the apartment, so we set out to create an open, accessible space with respectable passages in the public area while also ensuring each room had its own level of intimacy and a reasonable size. Additionally, we were asked to add a guest toilet room to the two existing shower-toilet rooms.

The Kitchen: A Functional, Classic Space for the Home

To make sure the renovation didn’t detract from the public areas, we opted for long-lasting and practical materials for daily life in this active home. The kitchen was designed as an integral part of the public space, complete with an island and plenty of closed storage to hide away the mess of an active day. We chose classic shades in the spirit of modern design.

Lighting Scenarios and Neutral Furniture Highlight the View

Spot, hanging and wall-mounted lighting fixtures were carefully selected throughout the apartment with thought to the needs of the owners. Lighting scenarios could be put in place to turn them on or off. When the walls of the apartment were broken, we appreciated the great view of Tel Aviv that spread out from the balconies and windows. This inspired us to opt for furniture in neutral, calm, and low tones to let the view come in as much as possible.
