About Monte do Olival

In this rural tourism project in Alcácer do Sal, composed of three houses and common areas by the pool, Lígia Casanova sought to “create a place where people can feel peace, away from the hustle and bustle of normal life”. Once again, tranquility and serenity are the main factors in this work. From the textiles to the wood, the environment provides a moment of peace in this Alentejo monte.

Respect for the regional building culture is visible in the treatment of the fireplace design, where the sitting space is the center of life in any Alentejo’s house.

The colors are handpicked in order to create the harmony needed to escape from the daily routine.
