The design incorporates features like a large, light-filled central volume and a mezzanine that serves multiple functions, including a wardrobe and a lounge area.
Pink as a Primary Inspiration
La Bonbonniere Parisienne is an apartment renovation by Ania Brault in Paris, France, completed in 2024. Nestled under the eaves of a Haussmannian building, this space offers a splendid view of a quaint Parisian square. The design draws inspiration from the playful and elegant spirit of the Pink Panther character, with a rich palette where pink plays a significant role.
Brault incorporated shades ranging from pale, subtle tones to vibrant, lively hues, reminiscent of the well-known cartoon character. This color scheme aims to create a warm, welcoming environment, evoking the feeling of being inside a box of dreamy candies.
Bold Use of Space and Volume
Utilizing the great height and triple exposure of the apartment, Brault’s firm Labopop crafted a variety of spaces that facilitate diverse daily activities. The design includes a spacious central volume serving as a refreshing, open space.
In designing the functional layout of the apartment, the architect opted for white floors, walls, and structural elements to further highlight the pink accents. The focal point of the interior is an expansive living area that seamlessly integrates the lounge, kitchen, and dining room. This layout floods the space with natural light and offers a splendid panoramic view, reflected in the kitchen furniture.
Multifunctional Mezzanine Unit
Positioned at the center of the apartment is a multifunctional mezzanine unit that performs several roles beyond housing the kitchen. From providing necessary storage to serving as a grand wardrobe for the bedroom, this unit enhances the apartment’s functionality.
Accessed via a practical pool ladder, the mezzanine offers an additional relaxation corner, perfect for entertaining friends or simply changing the perspective to admire the starry Parisian sky.
Brault’s thoughtful design ensures fluid transition between different areas, enhancing the sense of openness and maximizing the apartment’s spatial quality.
