P587 Apartment by Armentano Arquitetura

Conceived as a vacation home for families accompanied by guests, the project places special attention on the living areas, integrating the dining room and balcony with the kitchen to create a space capable of accommodating multiple activities simultaneously, without confining them to small, enclosed rooms. This lack of separation between spaces invites connection and the sharing of experiences, while also opening the entire social area of the apartment to the landscape framed by the curved window that defines the main façade of the building.

The atmosphere of the integrated living space is shaped by custom carpentry, furniture selection, and the materiality of the finishes. The light, matte, porous flooring is covered by the regular pattern of a wool rug, which marks the area intended for lounging. On top of it, a Maestro sofa traces a gentle curve that echoes the building’s façade, facing a custom-built shelving unit with braided straw details. On the opposite side, another curve references the building’s volume: the lowered ceiling of the integrated kitchen is clad in the same wood that covers the walls. The wood’s grain and tone contrast with the grayish marks of the stone used on the kitchen island countertop and in the finish of a niche that cuts through the kitchen wall, forming the sink and cooktop area.

The variety of finishing materials and the formal restraint in the design of the space’s organizing elements create a delicate composition in which the simplicity of the design is balanced by the tactile and visual richness of the environment.
