Casa Demetra by PuccioCollodoro Architetti
Set within a historic house from the 1940s in Palermo, Casa Demetra reaps the rewards of a meticulous renovation by Italian studio PuccioCollodoro Architetti, which combines elegance, functionality and respect for history. The architects streamlined its two floors into one, conceiving the main spaces as a large open layout that promotes visual and functional continuity between rooms.

Meticulous Transformation of a Historic House in Palermo
Undisputed protagonists are the custom-made furniture, designed in every detail to meet aesthetic and practical needs. Standing out among them is a suspended bookcase, a true functional sculpture: made with solid wood sides and black painted metal shelves, it blends the materiality of metal with the natural warmth of wood, becoming an architectural backdrop that defines the TV area and gives identity to the space.

The kitchen integrates perfectly with the living room, thanks to careful planning that enhances the essentiality of the forms. The clear and minimal countertop is accompanied by white sink and faucets, which dialogue in contrast with the green furnishings. The central island, in a matte black finish, houses the cooking area and connects harmoniously with the brushed wood dining table. Enhancing the space is a monumental hood that combines functionality and design, with integrated lighting and drooping plants adding a natural and dynamic touch.

A Guest Bathroom Turned Small Masterpiece
The interplay of materials also contributes to the narrative of the space: changing flooring guides the visitor from the living area to the sleeping area, while the entrance hall features custom-made furniture designed with sartorial care that combines aesthetics and practicality.

The guest bathroom is a small masterpiece: free-standing washbasin, matte black faucets, walls covered with contrasting glossy and matte blue tiles, and a surprisingly spacious and comfortable shower.

Architects Created a Private Spa Within the Master Bedroom
The sleeping area culminates with a fully glazed walk-in closet that leads to the master bathroom, designed as a private mini-spa. Here, dark tones, fine materials and expert lighting create a relaxing and sophisticated atmosphere, enhanced by a large mirror that amplifies light and space.

Casa Demetra today is more than just a renovation: it is the story of a harmonious transformation, where past and present meet in a perfect balance of form and function. A project that celebrates the power of design in giving new voice and new life to places rich in memory.
