An Unforeseen Sanctuary within Milan’s NoLo Locale
Considered a lively enclave, the C01 residence exudes urban retreat allure in Milan’s NoLo locale. This 39m² setting, devised by Studio Sveva in 2023, beckons curiosity, merging the city’s spirited essence with a tranquil dwelling.
The building’s facade boasts a comforting color scheme that hints at the vibrant elements hidden inside. Upon entry, the original floor tiles immediately stand out, each space displaying its own distinctive pattern that narrates a tale. These bold tiles establish a precedent for the renovation, guiding a harmonious scheme throughout.
More Efficiently Using Space
The ingenious configuration exchanges the living area and bedroom, converting the lounge space into a luminous, breezy haven. Sunlight floods in through the terrace, facilitating a fluid indoor-outdoor experience.
Within the lounge zone, a vintage ocher yellow sofa-bed pairs splendidly with the floor tiles. A hand-painted mural pays tribute to the close-by metro system, adding layers to the story of this intimate surroundings.
Bespoke furnishings fashioned from pale green and white laminated timber fulfill a dual function: visual appeal and practicality. In the sleeping quarter, a wardrobe featuring whimsical round cutouts not only partitions the area but also amplifies the influx of natural light.
Fusing the Old and Contemporary in Every Nook
The kitchen encapsulates the spirit of compact living. Its design remains efficient, with innovative storage solutions effortlessly woven into the pale green cabinets. Here, stripped-back decor alongside vintage touches fosters a hospitable vibe.

The bathroom experienced a total overhaul, featuring renewed green wall tiles and a patterned floor that seamlessly echoes the apartment’s style.
Lastly, the terrace acts as a tranquil haven, outfitted for relaxed outdoor dinners or peaceful morning coffee rituals. Adorned with plants injecting a touch of life, this area epitomizes the calm sought by urban residents.
