CASA FL by KICK.OFFICE
The living space of the CASA FL apartment in Milano, Italy, results from the design of KICK.OFFICE, who completed the project in 2022. This dwelling, located inside a prestigious late nineteenth-century building, reflects a timeless aesthetic with a contemporary approach. The interior architecture integrates elements from different eras, while respecting the apartment’s original features, providing a unique and thoughtful experience for the occupants and visitors alike.

About CASA FL
Timeless Aesthetic And Contemporary Approach
Following its previous use as an office, the Milanese apartment retained some original features, such as doors, a fireplace, and plaster decorations. In the project’s new layout, KICK.OFFICE chose to replace a difficult-to-recover tile floor with solid oak parquet laid in an Italian herringbone pattern.
Throughout the development, the apartment’s walls were painted a monochromatic, light beige hue. This choice aims to showcase and enhance the home’s historical and architectural features. Brass thresholds create passageways between rooms, adding a touch of elegance and transition.
The main rooms display reassuring, light, and satin textures, juxtaposed with elements embodying a vocabulary from varied eras. The details include a brick red polyester lacquered wall, textile coverings in the wardrobes and bedrooms, and shiny colored ceramic bathroom fixtures.
Bathrooms Shaped With Naval Language
Working on very large interiors, some spaces were designed as small architectures. In this context, access to one of the bathrooms features a barrel vaulted corridor. The design incorporates porthole windows in dialogue with the shower area. The accesses to the bathroom and shower connect through a double arch, highlighted by a burnished brass window.
The master bedroom features a distinct and recognisable geometry that sets it apart from all other rooms. A polygonal vaulted ceiling visually emphasises the rectangular plan.
In the design of the apartment, the corridor also features bespoke furniture that KICK.OFFICE implemented for the residency. One of the corridor’s long sides serves as a façade created from panels edged in natural brass and upholstered materials. Each of these panels hides large storage spaces, service rooms, and access to the most intimate areas of the house.
Casual And Unstructured Scenes
The custom-made furnishings designed by KICK.OFFICE reflect a carefully thought out and unique approach. A ribbed glass window divides the living room from the kitchen, where furnishings are enriched by the combination of burnished brass and Gold Calacatta marble.
Contemporary furnishings and icons of Italian and international design complete the spaces, enriching the reverberation of the universe of Milanese design in the apartment. The careful selection of furniture and accessories contributes to a design that expresses a casual and unstructured character, while offering a timeless aesthetic.
