Theo’s Home by In-Nova Studio
A penthouse in the heart of Caserta’s historic center has undergone a radical transformation to meet the needs of modern, comfortable living. Designed by In-Nova Studio, the property features a minimalist aesthetic, with curated furnishings and natural materials employed throughout that create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Various custom furniture pieces, such as the lacquered kitchen with walnut inserts, emphasize an overall simplicity that ensures every corner is designed for everyday well-being.
Light-Filled Layout
Located in a mid-20th-century building, this apartment has undergone a radical transformation to meet the needs of modern, comfortable living. The bedrooms were south-facing, overlooking the large terrace, while the kitchen was north-facing, an impractical layout that prevented the living area from fully enjoying natural light and the view of the terrace. The goal was to optimize the layout of the spaces, moving the living area to the south and creating a large living room opening onto the terrace, which could fully benefit from natural light and the view.
Enhancing Connection With The Outdoors
The renovation took shape around a clear concept: opening the living room to the terrace, enhancing the connection with the outside and allowing light to penetrate every corner of the house. The kitchen, previously isolated, was moved to the living area, becoming a central element that integrates perfectly with its surroundings. The separation between the living room and the study was achieved through a custom-made bookcase, which houses the entrance door and the glass door of the study, creating a play between solids and voids that defines the spaces without compromising their brightness.
Italian Walnut Flooring
One of the distinctive elements of this project is the Italian walnut flooring, laid in an Italian herringbone pattern. This material, with its warm and enveloping shades, covers the entire apartment, from the living area to the bathrooms, creating a single continuous surface and giving the home a feeling of warmth and welcome. The choice of walnut guided the rest of the design choices: simple lines and soft colors were selected to enhance the natural beauty of the flooring. The kitchen, as well as the bookcase and TV cabinet, were custom-made with white lacquered wood and walnut inserts, a combination that reflects elegance and sobriety.
Balancing Modernity And Nature
The south-facing living area is illuminated by natural light that streams in throughout the day, while the exposed central pillar in raw concrete contrasts with the warm texture of the parquet flooring, creating a visual effect that celebrates the encounter between modernity and nature. The bookcase is embellished with satin-finished glass surfaces with a retro pattern, which ensures a visual connection between the spaces but preserves the privacy of those inside the study.
Serene Sleeping Area
The hallway separating the sleeping area, designed as a quiet corner, provides access to the child’s bedroom, a bathroom, and the master bedroom. In the latter, the furnishings and earthy color of the wall behind the bed create a relaxing and minimalist atmosphere, emphasized by the choice of a bed with clean lines.
Bathrooms With Lightness
In the bathrooms, the walls are covered with light gray resin-effect stoneware, while the upper part of the walls and ceilings are painted in soft shades, creating a “colored hat” that visually elevates the space, giving a sense of lightness. The doors of the sleeping area, flush with the wall, disappear elegantly into the walls, accentuating the minimalist character of the entire apartment.
Concept Of Serenity
Every detail of the home, from the furniture to the furnishings, is designed to reinforce the concept of serenity and visual cleanliness, with black emerging in small details: lighting fixtures, handles, taps, and bathroom furniture structures, adding a touch of sophistication without overloading the space.
Synthesis Of Warmth And Elegance
This project is the perfect synthesis of warmth, elegance, and modernity, a place where light and natural materials blend to create a space in which every corner is designed for everyday well-being. Sobriety and minimalist style combine with material choices and warm colors, creating a bright and welcoming environment that meets the needs of contemporary life without sacrificing timeless beauty.
