IO House by KSR Architects
KSR Architects designed IO House to marry bold, playful interactions with ultra-contemporary design in London, United Kingdom. This six-bedroom house features vast subterranean leisure facilities hidden from the public beneath a roof laden with shrubs and trees to attract local wildlife. The design features unexpected surprises such as chrome slides, a color-changing floating staircase, and moving digital walls, always prioritizing a balance between innovation, fun, and sustainable architecture and interior design.

Presentation of Bold Design
KSR’s, IO House is an example of ambitious, innovative, and elegant design that is met with a playful attitude.
An Exemplary Sustainable Design
It is an ultra-contemporary home which is an exemplar of sustainable design and engineering. From initial concepts through to architecture, planning, construction, interior design and styling, KSR’s architecture and interior design teams collaborated to create this award-winning family home.
Home Fulfilling a Family’s Every Requirement
Located in North London, the family home is made up of 6 bedrooms, kitchen and dining, office, reception room, playroom, cinema, indoor swimming pool, gym, spa, garage, and sprawling garden.
Respectful Steel and Wood Frame Design
Being in a conservation area meant that securing planning was a challenge but the design remains respectful of the leafy neighbourhood and surrounding architecture by using a selective range of materials and considered design strategies.
Green Roof Attracting Local Wildlife
The 2,000 sqm new-build house emerges at street level as a single storey. Two lower levels are hidden from the public, dipping down within the landscaped gardens. A curved, green roof includes shrubs, small trees and a diversity of plant life, selected to attract bees and butterflies.
Exciting Experiences Embedded by Design
Moving through the building you are surprised with engaging encounters and experiences that are rooted in the determination to push the boundaries of the relationships between technology, product innovation and architecture and interior design. There is an excitement in the unusual and a mischievous sense of fun placed on the everyday; a ‘Floating’, colour-changing staircase, moving digital walls, water curtains, holograms and illusion art add to the mystery of this extraordinary home.
Slides Providing Fast Access between Leisure Areas
Two giant chrome slides, entered via a camera iris portal, provide a speedy journey between floors and deliver passengers to the gym, spa, subterranean pool and cinema, all located on the Leisure Level.
