Navigating Challenges at H+L House

With many restrictions on setbacks and internal condominium laws, H+L HOUSE was born, among so many challenges, with a very detailed briefing from the clients, who wanted to make the most of the land.

A Blend of Interior and Exterior Harmony

One of the considerations was to make the most of natural elements, as an intimate way of contact with nature, inside and outside the house: inside with many important materials such as soft stone and wood, and outside with lush landscaping, seen from various angles of the rooms.

Designed for Natural Transparency and Ventilation

The social area of the house was designed to allow maximum transparency between the front and back of the lot, favoring the passage of natural light and ventilation. The large openings create a direct connection between the internal and external spaces.

Dynamic Materiality at H+L House

The mix of materials concrete, stone, wood, steel and glass make the house lively, airy and special.

Open-Plan Living with Flexible Spaces

The two-story house is divided into services and leisure areas on the ground floor, which has a large integrated and flexible social area, with large sliding doors that allow connection to the garden and the pool.

A Self-Sufficient Design Approach

On the upper floor, 3 suites, a guest room and a support kitchen complete the house’s program. The greatest achievement of this project is sustainability. In addition to water reuse tanks, photovoltaic panels cover the upper slab, making the house self-sufficient.

Rich Detailing and Contextual Response

This residence is nourished by rich carpentry and an exclusive design, from its mixed structure of concrete and steel, which is exposed and makes it unique and original, to its furniture. The staircase, the main and sculptural element of the living room, also reinforces the originality and unique project.

A Bright Conclusion to Project Parameters

Despite the challenges, H+L HOUSE was born vibrant and categorical.
