From Apartment to Dream Home by Bazelet Architects
A young couple hired Bazelet Architects to transform a secondhand apartment into their dream home in Sharon Area, Israel. The 160-square-meter (1,722 sq ft) apartment was designed in 2025 by founder Anouk Ron and partner Shira Dromi in an elegant- and warm-toned style.

A Change of Scenery
They searched for over a year. A young couple, parents to a small child, set out on a quest to find a home that would meet their new family needs—a place where they could grow, evolve, and truly enjoy a high quality of life. They checked out new developments, toured model apartments, met with developers—but time and time again, they were disappointed. Prices were sky-high, the layouts didn’t suit them, and their hearts? They just didn’t feel it was right.
Then one day, almost by chance—it happened. A modest ad for a secondhand apartment caught their eye. The apartment belonged to a couple going through a divorce, and the sale was urgent—at a price significantly below market value. On the very first visit, the moment they stepped onto the floor—they knew: this was the one.
Blank Slate with a Welcoming Atmosphere
The apartment was spacious—160 square meters, five rooms, and a huge balcony facing a calming, open view. The structure itself was solid, the raw layout was promising—but it needed a complete makeover. That’s where Bazelet Architects, led by Anouk Ron and Shira Dromi, came in. They took on the project from planning to execution, with close, professional, and inspiring guidance.
From the very first meeting, architect Anouk Ron recognized the potential—and more importantly, the deep desire of the family to turn the space into a home that spoke their language. The result: a comprehensive, fast, and precise renovation project that breathed new life into the apartment.
A Luxury Public Space
The heart of the new home is the living room—an open, bright, and inviting public space, designed in an elegant, luxurious, and warm style. A striking slatted carpentry wall combines open and closed niches, hidden lighting, and a champagne-gold-toned stone backing, creating a sense of softness, depth, and presence.
At the front of the living room is a decorative marble element—which continues into the nearby kitchen cabinets, creating a sense of harmonious flow. The entire lighting layout was meticulously planned, including functional plaster ceilings, recessed lighting, spotlights, and hidden speakers—giving each space its own distinct character.
An Alluring Bedroom and a Spa-Like Bathroom
The central kitchen island became a design feature in its own right. A sleek, modern light fixture floats above it, adding a precise touch that bridges functionality and aesthetics. The material palette—stone, wood, and metal—completes the overall look of the home while maintaining a unified, refined, and curated design line.
The couple’s private bedroom was designed as a quiet retreat. The bed’s headboard wall was custom-crafted in dark wood veneer, with subtle embossing, natural stone accents, and hidden lighting that creates a calming atmosphere. On each side of the bed—non-symmetrical natural marble light fixtures, an unconventional choice that adds personality and uniqueness.
The main bathroom stays true to the apartment’s overall design language—with walnut-maple-toned cabinetry, a custom vanity, and accessories that create a home-spa feel. Richly textured stone tiles cover the walls, and soft wall lighting highlights the finer details—just as Bazelet is known to do.
An Architectural Attention to Every Detail
And not to forget the homeowner’s personal haven: a masculine, intimate, and well-defined home office. It features a wide work desk, deep-toned wooden shelving, and a natural stone back wall that conveys quiet strength. Here too, Bazelet’s architectural attention to every detail, tone, and lighting choice is evident.
Beyond the professionalism, architectural clarity, and meticulous finishes—Bazelet succeeded in translating the young couple’s dream into a true design language. A blend of practicality and aesthetics, emotion and planning, dream and reality.
