La Maison d’Ulysse: A Peaceful Refuge in Bali
Set amid the lush, rolling hills of a former rice paddy, La Maison d’Ulysse by LUASA architects perfectly embodies a sense of peace. Completed in 2021, this contemporary dwelling works in unison with its environment, overlooking the leafy fields of Bali’s Greenbelt. The structure contains geometric cubes stacked upon one another, emitting an air of tranquility and modern refinement.
The facade displays tropical ironwood panels that protect the ground floor from direct sunlight. Open fiber concrete units, taking cues from classic Arabic Mashrabiya designs, tastefully outline the entry facade. Together, these aspects merge effortlessly into the lively setting, ideally complementing the peaceful atmosphere.
Welcoming Interiors
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into an extensive living space that emphasizes eco-friendliness and flair. The unrestricted floor plan fosters a fluid bond with the outdoors. Expansive glass windows pour natural illumination into the area while framing views of the thriving gardens beyond. A snug seating configuration encourages unwinding, embellished with carefully selected decor that showcases local craftsmanship.
