Rebellious Elegance lands in Bari, Italy, as an apartment by Clubdesign Architecture Studio with a cool, pared-back stance. Matte black cabinetry, veined stone, and warm oak steer the interior toward a measured drama while daylight pours through long sheer curtains. The rooms read disciplined yet comfortable, with sculptural lighting and tailored storage setting the tone for everyday living.
Soft daylight slips through gauzy curtains and pools across oak boards. Dark cabinetry and pale stone hold the eye, tightening the apartment’s rhythm with crisp contrast.
This is an apartment in Bari, Italy by Clubdesign Architecture Studio, completed in 2024. The throughline is the interior palette: black-and-white volumes, warm wood underfoot, and measured brass accents that lend warmth without tipping the room toward glare.
Stage the Open Plan
From the entry, the living, dining, and kitchen align along one generous room. A long sofa grounds the center while a branching chandelier and slim track spots layer illumination, letting daylight and artificial light trade roles through the day.
Sharpen the Kitchen
The kitchen reads as a black monolith against the window wall. Matte cabinetry frames appliances with a precise grid, and a veined, waterfall island in pale stone carries a flush cooktop, integrated sink, and four thin pendants for focused task light.
Layer the Library Wall
Opposite the windows, a floor-to-ceiling shelving system mixes dark uprights and lighter backs. Books, objects, and a few sculptural pieces punctuate the grid, adding texture while keeping the long room visually calm.
Refine Closet and Baths
Beyond the living areas, a walk-in closet uses glass-front wardrobes and a centered island for order. Black framing, soft interior lighting, and the same oak flooring extend the apartment’s palette—privacy and display in careful balance.
In the brighter bathroom, vertical wood cladding meets white stone surfaces and an arched mirror. A vessel basin and brushed brass fittings warm the composition, while a wall-hung toilet and soft-diffused window keep things airy.
The second bath pivots darker with travertine-toned walls, black fixtures, and a glass shower screen. Integrated lighting at the mirror and vanity builds a quiet glow suited to evening routines.
