Mathison Mathison Architects revamped a midcentury home on Spring Lake, Michigan, focusing on enhancing its connection to the picturesque surroundings. Designed in 2022, the Harbor Point project reconfigures interior spaces for better lake views and functionality, incorporating features like clerestory windows and an expansive deck.

The renovation emphasises natural materials, with warm wood tones, dark stone, and natural steel finishes throughout, aiming to bring more light and openness while respecting the home’s original integrity.

Spazio24 Apartment by Sara D’Innocenzo

Italian designer Sara D’Innocenzo has completely reworked the Spazio24 apartment in Rome, transforming it into a home characterised by an agora-style central living space and spatial design elements. Placing the music-playing device with an “outer space” look at the centre of the home, she incorporated more playful and futuristic geometric forms, including a crystal dining table and Magis-Puppy seating. Bold colours such as green and orange also permeate the interior, contrasting with the wooden surfaces.

The house exterior of this home in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium, is reflected in the interior space, thanks to a carved wavy texture that Benoit Viaene brought into the design. Known for his unique hand-sculpting techniques, Viaene used the method to create light effects echoing his Floating Islands table design. The project, designed in 2024, marks the first time that the Belgium architect employed the signature method in an interior design project.

Prague-based studio Markéta Bromová Architekti has completed the interior of the Mezi Srnky bistro in Prague, Czech Republic. Designed in 2024, the bistro sits within a late 19th-century apartment building in the Vinohrady district. The team focused on durable materials such as terrazzo and textured plaster to create a lively, functional atmosphere. The color palette includes playful details and tactile finishes, providing a visual balance between raw and refined elements for an elegant dining experience.

This Destudio interior design in Valencia, Spain, centers around views over the old Turia riverbed. Ático Curvo features a glass facade, living room, kitchen and bedrooms that share the view, and further blur indoors and outdoors with a terrace replicating interior functions. A sculptural staircase uncovers construction details. This design also features a sloping roof, natural wood ceiling, soft-toned mortar walls, double-height ceiling, solarium, outdoor bath, open kitchen, black curved iron surfaces and natural wood.
