The Erskine Residence by Australian studio B.E. Architecture is wrapped in pale limestone tiles concealing the concrete structure of this single-bedroom house in Melbourne. Designed in 2024, the two-storey house has a 300-square-metre floor plan with an interior tailored to the owners’ “particular lifestyles.” The house comprises a primary bedroom with a bath, guest accommodation, separate studies, and spa and cooking areas.

Located in Bandung, West Java, Elua House by Patio Livity merges two separate masses to symbolize a couple’s journey. Designed in 2023, it features a blank white facade, natural stone, and a perforated metal fence. Inside, a koi pond, skylight, and zen garden blend functionality and aesthetics, emphasizing natural light and passive cooling.

The Lake Pavilions by Agence Spatiale in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Canada, overlooks Lake Saint-Joseph from three main pavilions. The multi-level home, constructed from naturally finished and charcoal materials, features an adjacent guest house and garage meticulously designed “to maximise breathtaking views of the lake” while minimising impact on the surrounding area.

Architecture studio Alexander & CO. redesigned a three-bedroom apartment in a Sydney office building as a “city sanctuary”. The apartment features handmade bespoke furniture set against walls tongue-and-groove wall panels to create a gallery-like atmosphere. Described by the designers as “a living gallery for two people who have chosen a life of quiet calm,” the flat includes several bespoke furniture, including curved concrete kitchens that were craned into the building via a window.
