Sola turned its former layout of separate rooms into a spacious living area filled with light, art, and contemporary furnishings. The minimalist kitchen, centered around an iconic white Saarinen table, complements the eclectic decor, which includes family treasures, bespoke joinery, and artworks.

FMT Estudio has revamped a historical house in Mérida, Mexico, respecting the neighborhood’s original architectural character. Completed in 2023, the Dolores project involved reconfiguring the property, adding contemporary elements to the original early 20th-century structure. Light volumes were added for contrast, along with wooden and marble details on windows and doors. The team aimed to preserve the neighborhood’s identity while incorporating modern updates to inspire other local developments.

The Berkeley Hills Residence, located in Berkeley, CA, United States, exemplifies contemporary architecture, designed by HAAS Architecture in 2016. Named Ascetic Approach, the project applies an “absolute minimalism” style across three floors, featuring spacious bedrooms, stylish living areas, and understated bathrooms that emphasize natural materials. Designed in a gray and beige palette, the home showcases careful zoning, built-in storage, and high-quality lighting, offering a cohesive flow from floor to floor.

MGK | Studio reimagines an early 20th-century apartment in Rome’s Testaccio neighborhood to cater to a new clientele. Maintaining the original layout, Marmorata Apartment features a central spine, restored, exposed-brick vaults, and a distribution filter, dividing the space into a living area and two separate suites. Unified color schemes, furniture, and art, including Davide Groppi lighting and Salvatori marble pieces, reflect a vintage and contemporary mix. A balance of past and present architecture and decor defines the restyled interior.
