The design incorporates traditional Cypriot house typology with patios and preserve native flora. The volume of this two-story house is divided into two parts, integrating three large courtyards in-between and side by side.

The 2023 PPA House in Trofa, Portugal, by N O A R Q | noarquitectos features a single-floor layout focused on sustainability. The 357.70-square-meter area incorporates a central quadrangular courtyard and is divided into three zones—social, bedroom, and parking—providing both privacy and openness. The house uses exposed concrete and plastered masonry for its structural walls, addressing economic sustainability and the life cycle of construction. A gallery shelters the courtyard, while the house’s infrastructure is hidden within plasterboard ceilings for economy and accessibility.
In 2024, Serrano + Baquero designed a house with an unconventional pool in Altos de la Zubia, Granada, Spain. The “Pool with a House” concept reverses the typical model, featuring a pool that encompasses the living space. This innovative approach provides varied water-related experiences, from submerged windows to elevated viewpoints, blurring the home’s boundaries and integrating the external landscape into the design.
Western Design Architects designed the New Road residence in Lower Bryanston, Dorset, UK. Completed in 2021, the home features a contemporary country style, created to replace an uninhabitable post-WWI property. The residence reflects the character of nearby historic houses with its simple modern vernacular design, utilising timber cladding and a metal roof.
Located in Maarn, Netherlands, the Extension Villa Heuvelrug was renovated by Bloot Architecture in 2024. The project reimagines a 1970s house, aligning with its original character. The addition features a two-storey extension, creating seamless transitions between the living space and the garden.
