Conundrum Creek Residence is located along the Conundrum Springs trailhead in Aspen, Colorado. Designed by Boulder-based Studio B Architecture + Interiors, the design creates a seamless connection with the environment. It is conditioned by local zoning and an inverted topographical site plan with views of nearby peaks. The home’s transparency encourages an interaction between the indoors and outdoors, while a covered patio connects the two wings to the home, enhancing indoor–outdoor living experiences with views that frame the Colorado wilderness.

Villa D by FOS Architetti in Italy features an extension wrapped around traditional trulli, making them the core of the design. Completed in 2020, the house integrates into the landscape with local stone and large windows. The contemporary design of the extension utilizes natural materials and varying floorings, creating a dialogue with the pre-existing structures.

With a mix of vibrant kitchen walls, restored parquet flooring, and unique furnishings, the apartment showcases a fun yet elegant atmosphere.

In Bucharest, Romania, Jooca Studio designed the Serenity apartment, a duplex with a minimalist style, completed in 2024. This project features an open ground floor and three bedrooms upstairs. Existing finishes were refreshed, and new filomuro doors were added. Jooca Studio utilized natural light to define the main areas and incorporated textured and shaded elements to create a beach-inspired aesthetic. The design includes a multifunctional island, spacious dining, and organic materials, enhancing the interior with a pastel palette and feminine touches.

The Snug, designed by Via Chicago Architects + Diseñadores, sits in the Wicker Park Historic District of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 2023, this compact accessory dwelling unit is part of the city’s new ADU ordinance. A small, light-filled second-floor apartment features creative corner windows and a unique planter box.

OYO has renovated a home into the Dune House in Ghent, Belgium. Designed in 2021, the project includes a sustainable approach with a ground water heat pump and solar panels. Key features include a raised roof edge and sleek black-stained wooden planks. The half-embedded structure preserves the historical character while integrating modern comfort, providing an oasis with geothermal cooling and smart storage solutions.
