The Gu House is a house located in West Vancouver, Canada, designed in 2020 by splyce design. The residence follows a facade of contrasting black stained cedar cladding and white fiber cement panels. Formed in a faceted “C” shape, it creates an interior courtyard for the family while shielding them from noise and views from a nearby highway. The sheltering facade opens to the interior with one large, double height window in the vaulted kitchen space.

The Coach House is a three-bedroom house located in London, United Kingdom, designed in 2023 by Open Practice Architecture. This family home balances comfort and interaction with its original utilitarian outbuildings, and its clean and calming interior explores materiality to reveal an environment celebrating light and aesthetic engagement across the dwelling’s different spaces.
