A Classic Home Reimagined
In the heart of the city, the Fairfield House underwent a major transformation. Originally, it was a simple Victorian cottage. Now, behind its lovingly restored façade, a modern and cozy living area welcomes visitors. Additionally, a new first floor offers two extra bedrooms. Moreover, there’s a handy study, a bathroom, and a fun rumpus area.
Innovative Changes
Seeing a great chance, designers added a sleek mud-room to the front. This new section doesn’t just give more storage. In fact, with a bright sky-window, it lights up the entryway. Plus, it introduces a big light-well. As a result, the home’s middle is bright and airy all day.
Inside, the living spaces blend old charm with new style. Simple v-grooves carved into wood panels add a neat touch. Then, there’s the shiny Elba marble in the kitchen that looks great with dark timber.
Making the most of the spot, the design enjoys lots of sunlight. Meanwhile, it keeps the cottage’s old beauty. Near the kitchen, there’s a big study area with a long window. So, the new design has places for friends and family to get together. But, it also has quiet spots for alone time.
