Sculpting a Home Within Nature’s Embrace
Positioned to favor the south, our challenge was designing a unique single-family abode. The plot’s steep inclination demanded an innovative approach. Thus, we melded the structure’s floors seamlessly into the earth.
Strategic Layout with a View
Interestingly, we set the entry point at the plot’s lowest level. It guides visitors to the home’s entrance, the garage, and the auxiliary spaces. The bedrooms find their place on the first level, while the living spaces occupy the second. Yet, it’s the topmost level that steals the show. Here, breathtaking seaside vistas await.
Merging Architecture with the Terrain
To preserve the natural beauty, we nestled the bottom two floors into the earth. The excavated stone became a resource. We used it to clad the exterior walls. This innovative technique lets the primary floor shine, resembling a delicate slice through the terrain. Additionally, the rest of the design marries effortlessly with the site’s native stone.
Glass, Shelter, and Outdoor Elegance
The main floor boasts an all-glass façade, crowned by a generous eave. This feature not only shelters but also blurs the boundary between inside and out. Furthermore, as one nears the kitchen, the terrace expands, hinting at al fresco dining opportunities.
Embracing the Horizon
On the upper level, a feeling of boundlessness prevails. The open concept ensures unobstructed horizon views from every nook and cranny.
