Upper West Side Penthouse by John Patrick Cunningham Features Danish Modern Design

John Patrick Cunningham has renovated an Upper West Side penthouse apartment in Manhattan, New York. Designed in 2023, the space reflects Danish Modern principles, focusing on functionality and materiality. The project involved restructuring the kitchen, updating bathrooms, and simplifying the floor plan to create a more cohesive and sophisticated living environment.

The clients, a married couple with adult children, were interested in a simple space inspired by Danish Modern Design, foregrounding function and materiality. We loaded the kitchen with storage and counter space, renovated the bathrooms, and generally cleaned up a somewhat motley floor plan, leaving a clean, functional, and sophisticated home.
