Lehit House by MAKHNO Studio in Odesa

Lehit House, designed by MAKHNO Studio in Odesa, Ukraine, captures the essence of a space filled with refreshing sea breezes and an overall feeling of lightness. Large windows throughout the house provide an unhindered connection with the environment, filling every corner with an abundance of natural light. The project aimed to create a perfect blend between the interiors and the surrounding landscape.

The clients wanted a space that reflected MAKHNO Studio’s design style, and the team succeeded in realizing that vision. All the rooms are located on the first floor, each with its own entrance leading out onto the patio. This arrangement guarantees privacy and direct access to the outdoor spaces, reinforcing the house’s connection with nature.

The living room is the heart of Lehit House, with a majestic natural stone fireplace acting as the centerpiece. This element radiates a sense of strength and power, along with the flickering flames. The large windows let in plenty of natural light, filling the space with warmth and creating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor environments. Sophisticated lighting further accentuates the room’s dynamic energy.

In the master bedroom, the KVITKA lamps bloom and fill the space with delicate notes. These lamps fascinate with their voluminous, warm yellow light, similar to pollen. The lamps feature a unique bouquet of tones and textures, making them one-of-a-kind pieces. Natural fabric reminiscent of fluttering candles decorates the walls, creating a calm and tranquil atmosphere. The design features soft, rounded shapes reminiscent of ocean waves, transporting guests to a world of peace and harmony.

The room is described as a sanctuary of tranquillity, exuding a restrained elegance and contemporary sophistication through its smooth lines, natural clay-textured walls, light wood details and natural fabrics. At nightfall, the Lakuna lamps emit a soft and inviting light, enveloping the room in soothing embraces, perfect for relaxing and resting.

The room adopts an elegant minimalism with large windows overlooking the courtyard, filling the space with natural light. The walls, ceiling and floor are decorated with light textures and natural clay colors, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. STRUMOK lamps, which embody Ukrainian culture, add to the charm of the room. These lamps resemble the gentle ebb and flow of the sea, with “strumok” meaning a small, gentle stream flowing into a large river. The unique texture and traditional elements make these lamps truly authentic.

The children’s room is a minimalist space decorated in natural colors. The combination of light wood textures and natural fabrics creates a cozy atmosphere ideal for children. Designed with functionality in mind, the room offers ample storage space for toys, books and other essential objects. The simple lines and shapes of the furniture and decor give the space a modern and timeless look, while the soft textures and warm colors add a touch of comfort and warmth, making it a welcoming environment for young inhabitants.
