The model apartment in the Umami project by Carasso Real Estate brings cooking to the heart of the home. Led by architect Shira Muskal, Halel Architecture & Interior Design created a complete living experience that begins in the kitchen and continues into the smallest details. The five-room apartment, which is part of a unique residential project built around the concept of hospitality and cooking, features soft, monochromatic tones and a bold, modern kitchen.
Design Gem Model Apartment Introduced The Concept Of Cooking Upgrades
The model apartment in the Umami project by Carasso Real Estate brings cooking to the heart of the home. Led by architect Shira Muskal, Halel Architecture & Interior Design created a complete living experience that begins in the kitchen and continues into the smallest details.
Located on the 22nd floor of one of the newest and most prominent towers in Kiryat Ono, this five-room apartment was designed not just as a living space—but as a complete experience. With a size of 133 sqm/ 1,431 sq ft and a 20 sqm /215 sq ft balcony facing northwest, the apartment is part of Carasso Umami—a unique residential project built around the concept of hospitality and cooking, tailored for families who live, cook, and love to host.
In the model apartment, which is estimated at around 5 million NIS, approximately 400,000 NIS were invested in design, furnishing, carpentry, and styling. Architect Shira Muskal of Halel Architecture & Interior Design explains: “This isn’t a high budget—especially considering rising prices—which demonstrates how careful design, without breaking walls, can completely transform the feeling of a space.”
Muskal continues: “Understanding that many Israelis are looking for design solutions that don’t involve heavy renovation or contractor work, we established a REDESIGN department in our firm—aimed at offering spatial design without tearing down walls. Over the past year, we realized people want a styled result—without heavy expenses or long processes. Sometimes, with smart carpentry, color, lighting, and styling—you can create magic in a space.”
Regarding the model apartment, she explains: “Our goal wasn’t to create a neutral apartment that suits everyone. We wanted to create a space with character—one that inspires, gives a warm and homely feeling, and allows visitors to imagine themselves enjoying a meal with friends, in line with the project’s concept.”

The kitchen, with its bold, modern design, opens to the public space like a chef’s kitchen. A large central island, precise lighting, and smart carpentry give it the look of a professional space—but still very much a home.
Interior Design Reflects The Architectural Line Of The Whole Building
The interior design reflects the architectural line that characterizes the entire project: clean lines, high ceilings, lots of natural light, and maximum use of the view. Soft, monochromatic tones were chosen, and great attention was given to each space—including a home office, a children’s room, and, of course, a master suite. Every detail was carefully curated, from bedding and furniture to curtains, rugs, and lighting.
The Building Itself Was Designed With The Overall Experience In Mind
The building itself was also designed with the overall experience in mind—with a uniquely designed lobby, a wine cellar at the entrance, and a cohesive design language that conveys elegance and comfort.
