CCY Architects has designed a copper-clad house in San Miguel County, Colorado, nestled among Engelmann Spruce trees. Called DNA Alpine, the property includes a main house, sauna, and garage, with architecture inspired by the surrounding landscape and contemporary artists. The design accommodates extreme weather conditions, featuring a non-repetitive pattern on the façade derived from the DNA of neighbouring trees. This eclectic home combines natural materials with artful elements, offering expansive views of the alpine meadow while maintaining environmental sensitivity.
The House Under Pines in Novigrad, Croatia, was designed by Konzola Arhitektura and completed in 2024. The vacation home and rental house feature elements of traditional Istrian architecture, such as a single-pitched roof, alongside modern features including strip windows.
Atelier du Pont has renovated Estancia San José in Menorca, Spain, transforming an old ruin into a 300-square-metre summer residence with Minorcan influences. Featuring arched Iroko windows and stone facade, the house combines raw materials with vibrant elements like an acid yellow kitchen.

ID Architecture has revamped The Old Rectory – a 19th-century home in South Kelsey, United Kingdom, integrating a two-storey extension with vertical timber cladding. The contemporary design features expansive glazing that frames the property’s eight-acre grounds. The extension, incorporating passive solar shading, establishes a stronger connection to the surrounding landscape.
Club James entertainment venue was designed by Conner & Perry Architects across seven decades in Los Angeles. Adding to an iconic hillside property by John Lautner, the firm has previously overseen alterations to the pad made famous in The Big Lebowski. A swimming pool, dining terrace, barbecue zone and kitchen facilities feature in the hillside property, complete with a new movie screening room. Architects want their work to be “an evolution of the visual language” of the original designer.

Its three levels cascade down a sloped terrain, ensuring all spaces offer panoramic ocean views. A dynamic, bidirectional geometry balances privacy and exuberance, complementing the surroundings and enhancing solar orientation.
Studio Toggle has recently completed in 2024 a private villa called Rawda Radiance in Al Rawda, Kuwait. Elevated on a travertine plinth, the villa features white plaster, stone cladding, and louvres for privacy and sun protection. The design includes an integrated swimming pool visible from all public areas, enhancing the home’s microclimate and ambiance.
Inside, travertine floors, wood accents, and strategically placed lighting create a warm, minimalist atmosphere. Balconies and compact planning maximize natural light and space efficiency.
