Inserting the footprint of an old childhood home into a small plot in Bangkok, Thailand, Beautbureau designed a contemporary Thai three-bedroom house with black latticed pavilions. The new property, named #11 II, incorporates memories of the original two-bedroom, two-storied structure with design aspects like courtyards and terraces that mimic the vernacular Thai house known as Ruen Thai.

Tucked away in the verdant scenery of Hanoi, Vietnam, Red Camp unfolds as an imaginative collective living venture initiated by Idee Architects Vietnam, crafted in 2023. This extraordinary camping facility provides a momentary refuge for individuals keen on reestablishing their bond with the natural world. The creators intended to fuse convenience and organic beauty, shaping a tranquil setting where guests could unwind and rejuvenate.

Casa El Pastizal is a house located in Machachi, Ecuador. Designed in 2022 by Diez+Muller, the project creates living spaces that are installed in the landscape, achieving a light and fluid spatial threshold that contrasts with the built mass of concrete. A materiality and construction system is chosen that allows the desired plasticity and versatility, that can contain the soil and adapt to the existing topography.

The house, located in Bengaluru, India, is designed by Kamat & Rozario Architecture. Envisaged as a large concrete tray placed in relation to the sun’s movement, the residence opens itself up to a more climatically pleasant aspect in the form of an open court, serving as the heart and lung of the house. Features include layering materials and textures on the southern facade to respond to sunlight, as well as top-lit stairs.

In Capalbio, Italy, Westway Architects crafted Il Casale Celato, a 700-square-meter (7,535-square-foot) house designed in 2025. The project combines a rustic farmhouse aesthetic with a central core featuring a circular staircase, natural materials, and expansive glass walls, creating an interior that is both transparent and deeply connected with landscape. Windows become “visual corridors” that captures views across Monte Argentario to the sea. The home is accented with a stone pool and summer kitchen.

Situated in Swannanoa, United States, Mountain Mint is a 2,000-square-foot house designed by Rusafova Markulis Architects. This compact, resource-efficient home has clean and minimal interiors, featuring light white oak wood flooring. The layout offers ageless simplicity, providing one-level living with a design that underscores a connection to its wooded surroundings, while cleverly positioning the building to preserve the site’s untouched natural beauty and views down Swannanoa Valley.

Ginkgo Valley Treehouse, located in Suizhou, China, is a house designed by Moguang Studio in 2023. The project features a playful, decentralized interior that offers an engaging alignment with the surrounding landscape, while a dynamic relationship between orthogonal and non-orthogonal systems shapes the spatial experiences. Aspects in color and materiality develop the diverse quality of the project, revealing a harmonious existence with the natural setting and creating opportunities for rich experiences.

Kahshe Lake Cottage by Solares Architecture is a house located in Gravenhurst, Canada. Designed in 2020, the project serves as a connection with nature for summer weekends full of play and relaxation. The story of the cottage goes back to 1987, when Solares’s co-founder Tom Knezic’s family first acquired the property, building a small bunkie as a temporary shelter.
