Rendezvous House is a modern mountain retreat located in Wilson, Wyoming, designed by Love Schack Architecture. Centrally positioned among mature aspen groves, the house harmoniously incorporates a first-of-its-kind Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) structure permitted in Teton County, Wyoming.
The design integrates Passive House principles to achieve superior energy efficiency while marrying contemporary aesthetics with a serene, natural landscape that emphasises sustainability and modern living.
The Capriccio House serves as a testimony to contemporary design through its open-plan layout and nuanced integration of the surrounding nature. The House of Horns by WOJR is located in Los Altos Hills, United States. Enfolding an existing foundation, the house features a single-story upper level with above-ground chambers, a centerline stone fireplace carved from Danby marble and a cave-like bathing space bound by an ovoid column. Designed to be “an assemblage of instruments” capturing the natural cycles, it is surrounded by a wild meadow landscape of California-native grasses and scrub.

Located in Telchac Puerto, Mexico, the house by Ápiron offers a private coastal retreat. Designed in 2022, it features a stone base supporting a polished concrete volume, maximizing privacy and sea views. The structure integrates local Toh stone and a distinctive “bajareque” lattice. Its 370-square-meter layout includes interactive social spaces on the ground floor and family rooms above, blending grey tones with wood and natural fibers.
Set among Messmate Gums in Australia’s Torquay hinterland, Peter Winkler Architects designed Winkler Residence as a home and studio shaped by a respect for the bush.
