The residence functions as a perfect vacation getaway, highlighting a distinctive folding roof configuration that resonates with its desert environment.
In the midst of Madrid, resides Casa Cometa, a shining example of imaginative design curated by Bardo Arquitectura. Built in 2024, this apartment overhaul tackles a distinctive obstacle—an almost caving-in roof. To remedy this issue, the architects suggested the addition of a second level, effectively birthing a new inhabitable area while bolstering structural support.
Raw House is a mixed-use development located in Seoul, South Korea, designed by Order Matter in a strong architectural style. The southern façade frames expansive views of lush foliage, inviting nature inside, while the northern façade creates a buffer from the street. Located on the west banks of Lake Memphremagog in Magog, Canada, House on the Lake is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional barn volume typical to rural Québec. Designed by Atelier Échelle and completed in 2023, this six-bedroom house incorporates a structural system meeting reinforced concrete and steel framing standards to create the perfect living space while allowing for a seamless flow of art integrated with the architecture.
El Capitola is a house located in Vancouver, Washington State, United States, designed by William Kaven Architecture in 2025. This residential project dedicates more square footage to a museum-grade showroom housing the owner’s remarkable collection of restored custom classic cars than it does to the living quarters. The architecture delivers a clean and understated framework with an homage to Jet Age car culture, featuring a minimal material palette of board-formed concrete, steel, and dark brick.
Occupying a verdant cliff overlooking the Pacific, Quinto Sol House in Punta Mita, Mexico, designed by Estudio Cristina Grappin, presents three distinct volumes that flow in a rhythmic succession of private and public spaces. Recently completed by designer Caterina Esposito in Italy, Colore! is a penthouse characterised by bold colors that play in the large living room creating perspectives and overlaps that emphasise and expand the interiors. Among the materials, lacquered mesh lightly “separates” the private path from the living room.
