The house’s material palette reflects the owners’ appreciation of the warmth of wood and stone elements, designed by Robert Gross Architecture in 2023. The residence employs highly energy-efficient strategies, including deep overhanging eaves for solar shading and a highly super-insulated envelope with high-performance glazing.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of Yucca Valley, California, the Panorama House presents a haven away from city life. Crafted by Andrew Goodwin Designs in 2023, this 1,535-square-foot structure resides on an expansive five-acre plot. The residence functions as a perfect vacation getaway, highlighting a distinctive folding roof configuration that resonates with its desert environment.

Located in Tulum, Mexico, Villa Amaite is a house designed by Ignacio Cabrera that emphasises a nature-immersed design. Rock Bluff House is a seasonal residence nestled into the forest of Qathet, BC, Canada. Designed by Laura Killam Architecture, it caters for a family of four and includes two independent structures connected by a shared arrival deck. The house steps down the site with twelve partial levels, framing views of the natural setting and Desolation Sound. Interiors feature full height glazing, dark grey-stained cedar boards, and an outdoor shower wrapped around an arbutus tree.

Located on a remote Northern Gulf island on the BC coast, Home for an Artist combines a house and painting studio designed by Laura Killam Architecture.
