Living the Dream Features Organised and Calming Living Environment

Halel Arch carried out minimal structural changes and maximum attention to detail in the renovation of an apartment in Giv’at Shemu’el, Israel. Designed in 2025, the Living the Dream project was completed for a couple in their 50s and their children, aiming to create an organised and calming living environment. Despite debates about moving, the clients chose to remain in their beloved community after the design team’s upgrade met their needs.

A wide central corridor pairs with nature-inspired artworks made with grating illumination technology in this Taipei apartment, creating two traffic flows that assemble art of illumination. Designed by Chains Interior, Light in the Wilderness was conceived for a vast space occupied by a couple and their four children, so privacy and entertainment were both prioritised within the area’s structure.

Milano Risorgimento is an apartment located in Milan, Italy, designed by Francesca Cutini of studiododici in 2023. This residential interior design project involved renovating and transforming a classic, historic home within a late 19th-century building into a contemporary space with a touch of French allure. The original materials, such as oak parquet and stucco, were preserved while incorporating modern furnishings to create a functional and modern living environment.

This Destudio interior design in Valencia, Spain, centers around views over the old Turia riverbed. Ático Curvo features a glass facade, living room, kitchen and bedrooms that share the view, and further blur indoors and outdoors with a terrace replicating interior functions. A sculptural staircase uncovers construction details. This design also features a sloping roof, natural wood ceiling, soft-toned mortar walls, double-height ceiling, solarium, outdoor bath, open kitchen, black curved iron surfaces and natural wood.

Ismael Medina Manzano redesigned a 60-square-meter apartment in San Sebastian, Spain, in 2024. The Unplanned Domestic Prototype critically explores the transformative potential of the property. Modern domestic needs are the focus of this project that challenges standardized principles and reimagines living spaces in the 21st century.

The apartment was transformed into a flexible, multifunctional environment adaptable to the changing needs of contemporary life. Rather than reinforcing the static nature of the original design, it integrates architectural possibilities that celebrate diverse social interactions.

Attic G-24 by SMA Architetti

SMA Architetti has completed the refurbishment of the Attic G-24 apartment in Varese, Italy. The project revised an existing, incomplete structure into a cohesive space defined by geometry and formal continuity.

The duplex-style design connects the levels with a striking staircase and features an interior filled with artisan materials and contemporary flourishes like inset lighting and slot windows. The top floor captures uninterrupted views across the long, narrow space, while the lower level perimeter is entirely utilised for key functions.

Interior designer Omar Abdelkhalek renovated the Flexibility of Spaces apartment in Cairo, Egypt to create an adaptable living area. Designed in 2023, the home mixes modern elements with classic features such as folding doors.

The open-plan space is easy to reconfigure, featuring a central living area that connects to a bedroom, kitchen, dining, and reception through sliding doors. A wooden storage spine adds flexibility and functionality, serving as both a practical element and a visual focus.
