Shell is a courtyard house in Kyiv, Ukraine, conceived by Bezmirno as a quiet brick refuge on the edge of the city. Behind its monolithic shell, the home turns inward toward a planted patio, where light, texture, and family life concentrate around a single protected void. The project balances robust exterior architecture with a warm, flowing interior sequence tuned to daily rituals.

Architecture studio naturehumaine has completed an intentionally opaque masonry-walled house in Austin, Canada, featuring a skylight and large windows that were strategically positioned to increase natural daylight within the interior. Palissade, which was designed and finished in 2024, has a gabled roof with a skylight illuminating its airy interiors, decorated with tactile materials and textures.

Atelier Design N Domain‘s Casa Feliz in Alibag, India, is a captivating tropical house that seamlessly blends with its lush, natural surroundings.

Designed in 2020, this 10,000 sq. ft. contemporary villa is set on a 2-acre site, offering a perfect coastal getaway just south of Mumbai. The house’s design concept revolves around the idea of a “threshold” that transports residents into a tranquil, nature-immersed world, with a monolithic material palette and striking architectural features.

Situated on the outskirts of Vadodara, India, the Brick Weave House, designed by Manoj Patel Design Studio in 2024, showcases a captivating blend of architectural and spatial moments. This 1140 sq ft house caters to the needs of two generations, where privacy and shared experiences are seamlessly integrated. The design embraces climatic considerations, utilizing a façade screening approach that adds a distinct rustic charm to the linear mass.

First Avenue Residence: Transforming a Century-Old Dairy into a Modern Home

This three-storey house in Toronto, Canada, originally constructed as a dairy over a century ago, underwent an interior renovation by PLANT Architect in 2020. The designers transformed the narrow, townhouse-like layout by strategically redesigning the main staircase, incorporating floor-to-ceiling glass panels, and adding a skylight to visually expand the second-floor living room. The clients’ extensive art collection inspired a curio cabinet-inspired design for this level, complemented by whimsical, bubble-like pendant lighting fixtures.
