From the outset in 2018, Maud Caubet’s approach was to integrate the house into its environment, utilizing local resources and embracing the site’s existing character. Contemporary holiday home Unblocked, located on the western side of the island of Tinos, Greece, features a design by Studio Kontodimas. Designed by Byben in 2022, this project keeps the overall programmatic organization of the original house, while also updating the design to a contemporary concept. The original driveway will become the yard, which will be accessed through the double doors off the living room.
Set in Palanga, Lithuania, the Open House is a single-family house designed by Devyni Architektai in 2023. Featuring a sculptural design, the abode surprises with an entryway completed with a slit and a closed-off facade. Inside, the house opens up significantly, with a bright and spacious interior where a curved internal wall accommodates the kitchen, fireplace and closet, along with expansive glass doors that lead to the inner courtyard.
