FMT Estudio has revamped a historical house in Mérida, Mexico, respecting the neighborhood’s original architectural character. Completed in 2023, the Dolores project involved reconfiguring the property, adding contemporary elements to the original early 20th-century structure. Light volumes were added for contrast, along with wooden and marble details on windows and doors. The team aimed to preserve the neighborhood’s identity while incorporating modern updates to inspire other local developments.
SottoSopra is a three-floor house reimagined by Italian design studio ZZ Studio in Giaveno, Italy. The design features an expansive open-plan living area created within the house’s gable roof, while the bedrooms remain on the first floor.

Centerfield Studio has completed its first home redesign in Portland, Oregon’s Northeast neighborhood. Originally built in 1958 by Peacock Construction, Fernwood is a two-story house set into a hillside. Centerfield Studio focused on minimizing the home’s original negative aspects while preserving its classic features, such as the gently sloping roofline.
