The project adopts a contemporary approach inspired by rural forms, engaging in direct dialogue with the surrounding landscape. The residence carefully cultivates the relationship between interior and exterior, featuring generous glazing and framed views. A long pool stretches at the front of the house, aligning with the building axis and extending the horizon.
Situated in the enchanting scenery of Noto, Italy, Casa IDDA is an extraordinary creation by Giuseppe Di Vita. Finished in 2024, this single-family dwelling harmoniously merges essential design components and well-balanced proportions. Its placement affords breathtaking vistas, and the essence of the edifice embodies peace.
The project consists of a two-level single-family house with approximately 205m² of covered area, located in the private condominium “Totoritas,” 80 km south of Lima, Peru. The site is 100 meters from the beach and is situated next to one of the main streets of the condominium. The client’s brief described a house that its architecture would not close off to the exterior but instead be as open as possible to the main front, inviting and welcoming passersby and neighbours.
Located in Bengaluru, India, Screen House represents a remarkable endeavor by Kamat & Rozario Architecture, crafted in 2023. This dwelling unifies internal and external areas, spotlighting daylight and airflow throughout the structure. Situated on a lot measuring 40 feet in width and 75 feet in depth, the residence interacts with its surroundings as one navigates through its length.
The AV Residence is a house located in Lagos, Nigeria, designed by Minida Designs in 2022. The client desired an aesthetic combining modern cabin looks with local materials. The interior reimagines spaces and focuses on local and natural materials that reference serenity and peace throughout the property, from primary bedroom designed for luxury and relaxation to functional spaces for home entertainment, including a recording studio and fully fitted walk-in closet.
Designed in 2020 by Atelier MEME, the Futtsu Weekend House is located in Chiba, Japan. Nestled along the coastline, it features a design that intentionally emphasizes the relationship with its natural surroundings, offering captivating views of both sea and mountains. The home frames its landscapes, capturing the ebb and flow of the ocean and the embrace of densely foliated hills, creating a unique sense of tranquility and liberation from daily life.
The clients presented an extremely narrow site in Thiruvanthapuram, India as part of their design brief. The resultant Narrow Brick House, designed by Srijit Srinivas Architects in 2022, features a house with a generous 117 sq.m. of built-up area on the elongated 283 sq.m. site. The light-touch minimalist approach also finds expression in the various interior design elements like wardrobes, shelving, fenestrations etc– all pared back to the bare minimum required.
The Mishmar David 1 house was designed in 2019 by Ronnie Friedman for a couple in their forties with three children. Located in Mishmar David, Israel, the house incorporates raw materials and clean lines. Exposed concrete walls define the public areas and separate the private side of the house, which includes a basement unit “mostly buried” beneath due to the topography of the land.
