When a New York City townhouse needed a transformation, I was proud to retain the 100-year-old charm while giving it a youthful lift. We created a combined dining and living room with a corner seating area to provide multiple uses for today’s family. The walls are combed and tinted plaster and set against a sky-blue ceiling. Cream velvet upholstery, geometric patterns, and a delicious grey and blue rug complement a striking cluster globe chandelier, modern art, and unexpected vintage elements. The quietly luxurious room evokes a calm and sensible elegance.
