About Summer Pavilion
Welcome to Summer Pavilion, a modern architectural work by Raúl García, situated in the warm embrace of Valencia, Spain. Designed in 2017, this summer house stands proudly on a 4000 m^2 plot, designed to be the heart of summer living.
Architectural Symphony in Sunlight and Shade
From the first glance, the Summer Pavilion captures attention with its striking cantilevered roof. A bold structure, its deck slab ‘floats’ effortlessly, providing cool shade over the vibrant activities of summer. This open-air sanctuary seamlessly blends with the lush garden, inviting nature into the living space. The contrasting use of Corten Steel lagging on the supporting structures provides a contemporary touch that harmonizes with the main house, creating a distinctive, yet integrated, identity.
The Heart of Summer Living
Step through the threshold and be greeted by an expansive outdoor kitchen, equipped with barbecue and traditional oven, tailored for gastronomic experiences under the open sky. The area unfolds into a large arbor, offering a convivial space for dining and relaxation. The use of hidden perimeter lighting accentuates the roof’s perceived weightlessness, enhancing the evening atmosphere with a soft, glowing ambiance.
Interiors Crafted for Comfort
Inside, the attention to detail is evident. The transition from exterior to interior is marked by a seamless continuity of modern design. The bathroom exudes simplicity and functionality, with clean lines and a minimalistic approach. Natural light filters through discreet windows, complementing the subtle tones of the tiles and fixtures. Next, the changing room provides a private space that maintains the pavilion’s design language, merging practicality with the elegance of simplicity.
The Summer Pavilion by Raúl García is a celebration of modern design and summer living. It is a space where architecture and nature coexist, creating a hub of activity for those warm months. This pavilion isn’t just a building; it’s a destination for making memories under the Valencia sun.
