About Teph Inlet
Teph Inlet: A Coastal Haven in Nova Scotia
Teph Inlet, a picturesque summer home in Chester, Nova Scotia, welcomes a young family. It sits on a plateau overlooking the ocean, featuring three rectilinear volumes designed for outdoor enjoyment. The main house, a red cedar-clad structure, floats above a glass-encased ground level. Massive sliding glass panels connect the kitchen and living room to the swimming pool and deck.
Adjacent to the pool, a pool house with guest quarters forms a right angle to the main house. Together, they create a private court, contrasting with the aluminum-clad garage that defines the public entry court.
Connecting Play and Relaxation
A linear sports area links both accessory buildings, offering a zip line and various family activities. White quartz stone tops these structures, integrating them into the landscape.
Inside, floating white oak stairs connect the ground floor to the light-filled upper level. Punched windows and skylights flood the space with natural light. A 30-foot corridor window offers a perfect reading and relaxation spot, with views of the surrounding landscape.
Elegant Interior with a Touch of Fun
The interior boasts herringbone-patterned white oak floors, oversized doors, and light-toned stones and tiles. The mature, mid-century furniture contrasts with playful spaces like a movie room and ping pong area, blending sophistication with fun.
