Description

This is a restaurant located in Porec at Vladimira Nazora 7.

My inspiration was the word “Ćakula”, which in the Istrian dialect means “conversation” or “story”. I wanted to give the Istrian soul to the bar in a modern way using stone, microbeton, korten and oak wood. The ceiling that I designed and that was made by a diligent team of carpenters consists of 3500 wooden cylinders of different dimensions that represent a lot of different chucks which in most cases are all different. Chandeliers represent clouds, because when we “chatter” and fantasize, we are often with “our heads in the clouds”. The wine cabinet is designed to measure, so that 600 bottles can be stored at the ideal temperature, and Dry Agers have been installed so that guests can choose aged pieces of meat. All other elements are black to highlight the main characters of this restaurant: guests who enjoy Istrian delicacies, čakule, Istrian stone, Istrian and other wines, aged meat… The kitchen is also black and lined with black rustic tiles to bring out the chefs and dishes coming out of the kitchen. The Ćakula terrace is actually a street paved with stone in the old town of Poreč. My desire was to beautify and warm the street and match restaurant chairs, tables and benches with the street. I designed and drew the chairs and benches especially for that restaurant, I combined the oak construction with a reinforced microbeton slab engraved with the Ćakula logo.
