Description

There is a myth that advises against designing your friends’ homes. Well, we have never been happier to dispel this myth.

The house in question belongs to an Italian-Moroccan couple who are great friends of Selina’s, the owners of Casa Amar, which imports beautifully crafted Moroccan rugs with an eye to the sustainability of their production.

Fond of their Milan home, the couple decided it was time for a makeover. The floor plan remained virtually unchanged; what we mainly focused on, however, were the lighting, finishing materials, and furnishings.

Starting with the living area, enriched by a deliberately bright-colored mural with Moroccan references, which seems to want to draw a sun that illuminates the room, and by the design of a piece of furniture that creates a sort of separè-library with respect to the entrance.

The living area was enhanced by gold-colored wall lamps and the chandelier above the dining table.

The corridor leading to the sleeping area was deliberately loaded by using a wallpaper that covers part of the walls and the ceiling, creating a decidedly enveloping effect with a “nonsuch” of magic.

Here opens the master bedroom, with soft colors and delicate North African accents, and the children’s room, enriched by a beautiful watercolor-effect wallpaper and a large piece of furniture made of Vienna straw and wood that contains both the children’s clothes and toys.

A vibrant, colorful, and enveloping home, just like the family that inhabits it!
