About The Esplanade

The Esplanade: A Coastal Contemporary Masterpiece

Nestled on a prime beachfront corner site, The Esplanade by Chan Architecture stands as a noteworthy addition to Altona’s landscape. Designed in 2024, this luxurious development features two upscale townhouses that elegantly frame the breathtaking views of Port Phillip Bay. The modern facade showcases clean lines, complemented by an array of textures, including metal, concrete, and timber. Curved glass windows diminish harsh edges, inviting natural beauty inside.

As you approach the entrance, a striking interplay of perforated white bricks and warm timber draws the eye. This visually engaging façade sets an inviting tone for what lies within.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

Stepping into the first residence, you’re greeted by a spacious open-plan living area designed to maximize ocean views. The central double-height circulation zone flows effortlessly into the living spaces, creating a hub that transitions between indoor and outdoor environments seamlessly. The warm grey stone and charcoal-colored engineered timber floors anchor the space, while sleek black furnishings add a touch of sophistication.

The living area, with its plush seating, is designed for relaxation and conversation. Framed by expansive glass, each moment in this space feels like a direct connection with the coastal landscape. Nearby, the sleek kitchen—equipped with dark timber veneer joinery and premium appliances—invites culinary exploration. Three stylish bar stools create an informal gathering spot, enhancing the convivial atmosphere.

Moving into the dining space, an imposing black table elegantly contrasts with light wood chairs, positioning this zone as a focal point. Here, a contemporary fireplace adds warmth and ambiance, fostering an inviting environment for family dinners or entertaining guests.

Tranquil Retreats and Luxurious Bathrooms

Ascend to the upper level, where the master bedroom awaits. This sanctuary captures panoramic ocean views, offering a serene retreat from everyday life. Spanning generous proportions, it features calming tones and tactile materials, including a soft-textured rug that invites you to linger.

The ensuite bathroom embodies luxury. A marble feature wall, oversized porcelain tiles, and dark timber elements create a spa-like experience. Thoughtfully placed skylights flood the space with natural light, enhancing the tranquil ambiance.

Each additional bathroom reflects the same commitment to luxurious finishes—complementing the overall aesthetic with contrasting textures and sleek lines.

The Esplanade is a stunning example of modern architecture, harmonizing form and function with nature’s beauty. Through its design, Chan Architecture has crafted a residence that embodies sophistication while offering an unparalleled coastal lifestyle.
