Spacious open-plan interior with wooden ceiling and stone accent wall, modern furnishings.
DX house is located in a residential area along the Duong River, just over 30 minutes drive from the center of Hanoi. It is growing rapidly and increasingly crowded, and the construction of infrastructure with concretizing structures is shrinking living spaces and natural greenery.
The image showcases a modern, open-concept living space with a wooden dining table, leather sofa, and stone accent wall.
The land has an area of 150 sqm, not square because of the riverbank road. This is a house for three generations, with the desire to be able to bond family members and bring life closer to nature. The main functions of the house include a shared living space, an altar room, and a bedroom on the first floor, two bedrooms on the second floor, a multipurpose room and a garden on the roof. These spaces are connected through stairs and a large skylight in the middle of the house.

Jewel-Inspired Facade

The facade of the structure was inspired by beveled cuts on the surface of a jewel. This is the solution that helps the diagonal of the land to merge with the whole, creating a picture of the change of light at different times.

In order to take advantage of the characteristics of the south wind and the river ahead, the work opens the door systems as much as possible so that visibility is not obstructed, that brings the image of the garden and the open view of the river into the living space.

Central Skylight Design

The bare essential of the house is the skylight space combined with a misaligned structure that helps microclimate and air convection to take place better. Sunbeams filtered through the skylight, a soft and sparkling glow reflected off the lake. A refreshing breeze swept through the house, carrying the scent of moonflower blossoms.

The guest space, kitchen, and dining are arranged evocatively to create an airy and seamless feeling. Make the most of the views of the garden in front and the skylight in the middle of the house. Thereby helping the green patches and space to use are mixed together, no longer the divide between inside and outside.

Minimalist Interior and Rustic Materials

The interior of the building is minimalist to create a quiet space, giving a sense of peace when returning. Natural stones throughout the skylight are the main highlight of space, combined with concrete, brick, wood and greenery, create a rustic feeling, close to nature.

The upper part of the glass roof can be opened and closed automatically to limit the negative effects of climate. Light through skylights, water and trees. It transforms and moves during the day to create interesting experiences in space. In addition to its artistic value, natural light and ventilation significantly reduce the dependence and power consumption of devices.

DX House Palace is a strong cubic building, but there is no shortage of harmony, lightness with the context. The combination of skylight space, water, and lighting is the focus of the house. In addition to helping create a buffer against temperature, noise and dust, green patches also give a different appearance when viewed from the outside.
