Vlogger Aguai’s Home by LZA Provides Work-Life Balance
The owner of the Studio Xag interior in London is a self-media vlogger. The designer took zakka culture–which began as a contemporary design fad, but has since evolved into an art and design style known for its handmade and pre-industrial aesthetic–as the main theme of the interior design. Quan created a home office environment that suits both the owner’s living needs and work needs, as a vlogger.
The owner of the home is a vlogger in the self-media sector. The designers took the behavior of scrapbook production as the core of the design, and combined the owner’s living needs with the new-media vlogger’s needs for a home office.
Innovation: The project adopts an innovative hybrid approach that caters to both dwelling and working needs in home design. Conventionally, a dwelling space is separated from a working space. The designers broke such a traditional boundary by integrating home environment with a working space, creating new dwelling and working experience. The innovative design provides a friendly working environment for the owner and helps her to achieve better work-life balance.

A home stemming from Aguai’s love for life is expressed through design techniques. Functions are spread out from the handbook workbench as the origin, forming the layout of the new home. The integration of a relaxed and comfortable, workplace and home is the primary purpose of the design.
Creativity: During the design process, the design team hoped to find a way to showcase the element of time in the architecture and space. In a high-dimensional condition, human activities are overlapped through multiple continued curves. How does a space mesh with people in a condition like this? The designers tried to find an answer in the project.
Functionality: The designers incorporated the owner’s hobbies including scrapbooking into the studio, through which they created a unique and personalized work environment at the home, which also becomes a source of creativity and inspiration. The approach, which blends personal hobbies into the design of the studio, not only echoes the interest and passion of the owner, but also infuses the studio with a personalized and unique atmosphere that attracts her followers and audiences. The scrapbooking area provides a space for multi-person offline experience classes.
