Set in Milan, Italy, Apt. Anzani is an apartment designed in 2023 by Valencia Biscottini. The apartment, on two levels, features a contemporary design that respects and integrates existing furniture and finishes.
The occupant, who matured between these walls, envisioned a renovated and practical living situation that would accommodate various family needs.
As you approach the house, the façade welcomes you with a mix of modernist aesthetics and traditional Milanese elegance. As you enter through the imposing wrought-iron blue glass entrance, you are immediately enveloped by a sense of light and openness. This impressive entrance sets the scene for the apartment’s dynamic and artistic identity.
The main changes were concentrated in the living area. The existing furniture and decorative elements have been preserved and carefully combined with new materials. The space radiates light, accentuated by tones that reflect the artistic inclinations of the inhabitants.
Vibrantly painted walls and skillfully arranged plants amplify the atmosphere. The living area features a cozy blue sofa, which forms an enveloping highlight next to the extensive bookcase. This cozy corner is the ideal place to unwind, while a dining table made of natural wood promotes togetherness.
An elegant partition separates the old living room from the new working area, facilitating an open transition while allowing for seclusion. The impressive wrought iron door with four blue glass panels perpetuates the perception of openness, encouraging natural light to cascade through the entire space.
Moving on, you enter the lively culinary space. A red kitchen, with a speckled marble worktop and a sunny resin floor, exudes coziness. This area is more than just a space for cooking; it serves as a meeting center. The wooden dining table invites family meals and engaging dialogues, illuminated by the soft glow of daylight filtering through the large windows.
Up the elegant spiral staircase, you’ll find other living areas that perpetuate the cohesive design narrative. At the top, an intimate corner decorated with framed pieces of art encourages moments of solitude and creativity.
The bathroom and bedrooms extend the motif of color and ease of use. The bathroom has a blue resin floor combined with whimsical details on the terrazzo tiled walls. In contrast, the spacious bedrooms adapt to contemporary family life, presenting a perfect blend of comfort and up-to-date aesthetics.
Apt. Anzani transcends mere living space; it serves as a canvas that reflects the lives and characteristics of its occupants. Valencia Biscottini’s meticulous designs pay homage to history while embracing future possibilities, making this Milanese sanctuary a true testament to modern life.
