About KSS Apartment

Morning light presses through burgundy curtains and pools across walnut boards. A curved island glints under marble, pulling the kitchen and living room into one conversation.

This apartment in Gdańsk is shaped by Raca Studio as a relaxed, social home where color and material steer the experience. The story leans on an interior palette: deep reds, dark timber, expressive stone, and crisp black details.

Set The Tone

The open-plan living area centers on a ribbed, charcoal island with a stone top that arcs at the corners for a softer landing. Above, a row of pendant globes aligns with a graphic hanging rack, giving rhythm while keeping sightlines clear across the dining table and lounge.

Layer Color And Light

Burgundy curtains wrap the windows and temper glare, switching the room from bright day to intimate evening with a single draw. Track lighting skims the ceiling, while round pendants and small brass shades create warm pools over seating and the circular dining table.

Work The Grain

Walnut surfaces run from floorboards to the stair wall, tying circulation to the living zones with a consistent, tactile grain. Vertical black bars guard the stair edge and echo the island’s fluting, a quiet repetition that keeps the composition taut.

Stone As Anchor

Expressive marble folds through the kitchen backsplash and lands again as low shelving in the lounge, turning practical edges into visual anchors. In the bathrooms, the same veined slabs rise behind vessel sinks and under round or pill-shaped mirrors, paired with matte black taps and compact sconces for a crisp, graphic read.

Softened Private Rooms

The bedroom cools the palette without losing character: a channel-tufted headboard in deep red grounds the bed while pale drapery filters daylight. Brass pulls on white wardrobes and a slim pendant nod to the living areas, and a pocket vanity lined in marble keeps morning routines close yet contained.

Objects In Conversation

Smoky orange acrylic tables catch stray sun near the balcony doors and glow like embers. Plants tuck beside shelves and the stair landing, softening edges and adding a living, seasonal layer to the measured palette.

By afternoon, the timber deepens and the curtains read almost plum, while stone holds its cool across the counters and washstands. Materials do the quiet work here—grounding daily life in texture, warmth, and a touch of theater.
