Dimitri: Radiant Rooms and Artful Layers for Lively Family Living

Dimitri reimagines a Brussels, Belgium townhouse as a spirited family house by Victoria-Maria Interior Design. Across rooms shaped for a couple and five children, the project channels color, art, and texture into daily life. The renovation unfolds over nearly five years and carries a personal thread, weaving pieces from the studio’s Heimat collection with works by Marcel Arnaud and Simon Buret for a layered, lived-in rhythm.

Soft daylight skims a lemon-yellow ceiling and lands on built-in shelves packed with books. A checkerboard fireplace anchors the room while an abstract canvas lifts the mood.

This is a family house in Brussels by Victoria-Maria Interior Design, envisioned for a couple and five children. The throughline is the interior palette—color, pattern, and texture tuned for daily use without losing wit.

Color Sets the Tempo

In the living room, saturated yellow cabinetry wraps the hearth, and a black‑and‑white tiled surround clicks against sandy upholstery. Low tables clad in small ceramic squares add a rhythmic grid, while a zigzag sofa and floor mat keep the eye moving across the room.

Patterns In Motion

Sunburst wallpaper streaks through the upstairs rooms and frames built-in oak storage. A white lounge chair and terracotta curtains soften the graphic edge, and a matching motif reappears in the bedroom where a coral fireplace and a brass sunburst ceiling light complete the trio.

Crafted Surfaces

Near the kitchen, a travertine-like table meets a plinth wrapped in cherry-red tiles, under a pendant woven from warm, faceted pieces that scatter a gentle glow. The island’s glossy rose countertop holds the cooktop; against wood cabinetry, an amber-toned window panel warms the background.

Rooms For Gathering

A snug dining nook wears brick-red grasscloth and a patterned roman shade over a garden view. Slim vintage chairs and a cream pedestal table invite short breakfasts and long conversations.

Stair And Bath Drama

The stair runs cherry red, from balusters to newel, with a lively runner coursing upward like a stripe in motion. In the bath, deep green glazed tiles catch light on every edge, while a floor of crisp circles and globe sconces sharpen the contrast to the adjacent sunburst bedroom.

Shelves line the primary room with novels and ceramics, turning storage into composition. The headboard is a red panel that grounds the bed and gives the wall rhythm.

By evening, colors dim but hold their warmth, and tiled surfaces glow softly under low lamps. The house feels made for ordinary rituals—reading, cooking, gathering—yet every corner carries a precise note of joy.
